Problem set
Problem set #9; due Thursday March 27, in class.
- An optical microscope is used to image a large 1D periodic array of slit aperatures. The lattice consant a=20 mm; and the width of each aperature is b=5 mm. The illumination light is a single wavelength of l = 0.5 mm. The focal length of the objective lens is f=20 mm and the focal length of the transfer lens is 200 mm. Use MatLab to plot the relative intensity versus position on the CCD camera for three cases a) 3 spots passing through the aperture in the back-focal-plane of the objective; b) 5 spots passing through the aperture; and c) 7 spots passing through the aperture.
